KPV 10mg is the synthetic tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val, the three C-terminal residues (11–13) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). KPV research background

KPV is the shortest fragment of α-MSH that has been studied on its own. α-MSH is a 13-residue hormone cleaved from pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC), and in the 1980s and 1990s researchers working through its fragments found that the C-terminal Lys-Pro-Val tripeptide retained activity in some cell and animal assays that the full hormone showed, without engaging the melanocortin-1 receptor pathway responsible for pigmentation. That separation is what made KPV a research compound in its own right.

The published laboratory literature has examined KPV in cell culture and rodent models, chiefly in relation to NF-κB signalling and cytokine gene expression in epithelial and immune cell lines, uptake by the peptide transporter PepT1 in intestinal epithelial cells (Dalmasso et al., Gastroenterology, 2008), and colitis models in mice. KPV is also the parent of the Alpha Forge Prime KLOW blend. As with every compound in this catalog, these are in-vitro and animal findings; they do not describe effects in humans.

Analytically, KPV is one of the simplest peptides to characterize: no oxidation-sensitive residues, no aspartate, a single sharp early-eluting peak on reverse-phase HPLC, and an unambiguous [M+H]+ at m/z ≈ 343.2 on electrospray MS. Net peptide content should be read from the COA, since the acetate counter-ion is a meaningful fraction of the mass of a peptide this small.

Handling and storage: Lyophilized powder in a sealed, nitrogen-flushed vial. Store at −20 °C for long-term storage or at 2–8 °C for short-term storage, protected from light and moisture. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening to prevent condensation.
